The smell of spring, getting dropped on this climb, the taste of the rain or the freedom of being fixed...today's ride was a healing balm to my spirit. Happy memorial day everyone!
Whatever is forseen in joy
must be lived out from day to day.
Vision held open in the dark
By our ten thousand days of work.
Harvest will fill the barn; for that
The hand must ache, the face must sweat.
And yet no leaf or grain is filled
By work of ours; the field is tilled
And left to grace. That we may reap,
Great work is done while we're asleep.
When we work well, a Sabbath mood
Rests on our day, and finds it good.

Minneapolis is amazing. Bob Trailers, squeaky chains, people on drop bars with backpacks, commuters, racers, kids... about any biker you can think of - I saw one. Trails and bike lanes everywhere and lots of places to explore.
One of our conference speakers referenced the Celtic idea of "Thin Places" which are places in the world where the gap between the Earth and the Kingdom seems almost transparent and God feels especially present. I don't think she is a cyclist or she would know that sometimes the thin place is not a destination, but the way you take the journey. My bike not only finds such places instinctively, it also seems to be one.
My thin place is blue and silver... yours?
