Another great Winter Games!

Where else can you freeze your fanny, listen to Star Wars on the accordion, and hang out with some really cool bikers all at the same time! Some of you missed the accordion send-off. Some of you even traveled to China to avoid it. All I can say is Accordion Girl managed to keep the bellows from freezing up and that was no small task!

Mission Accomplished!

Great Ride! Kari on the pugs and Sarah Webb dodging traffic made it all worth it. Sorry we missed the accordion fanfare at the beginning but it was a pretty good day and the route was mostly clear. Everyone absent was missed and I'm holding on to the vision of us all putting away the lobster gloves and lake-lapping in shorts in the near future.

There is a very good chance that the weather will be relatively inviting for this year's Freeze Your Fanny bikeride! And one thing we know for SURE...the entertainment will be unforgettable.

it's about time for a cycling related post...
...but i fear the readership tires of my antics...
maybe if you joined me in celebrating winter riding
you could be a big dummy, too!?!
i would be willing to help you meet the seller halfway...

i've noticed a disturbing trend in cycling...

and it's pretty well summarized
in this video...
i will only include the link
so that you don't have to go to the site
unless you feel you're ready to view
some really questionable footage...
here goes:
since it's all about performance
i think the guy in the video
can skip the carbon stage
and just get himself right on the speedvagen waiting list!

Let's all just make sure we reserve saturday, january 30th!

i just scouted out the route
and as you might suspect:
the conditions are perfect!
...snow-packed and slippery...
allow about an hour for the
complete loop without stops.
...but do slow for deer crossing
and raccoons raiding!

Pick a Day!

While in Sioux City over Christmas vacation I discovered an awesome ski trail at McCook lake in North Sioux City. Miles of perfectly groomed trails, no steep climbs, no drifts. Here's what I'm thinking...

We pick a mutually open day, head there for multiple hours of great skiing, and then travel the 15 minutes to Sioux City for Lunch and/or shopping (by that I mean Barnes & Noble and Scheels) and then ski some more on the way home and return to Spirit Lake! What day works?
